Review summary

Based on our careful research, we concluded that this tire is an adequate on-road/off-road tire for most. However, it's not the best option for those that typically drive in snowy, ice, or wet conditions. The tread on this tire tends to wear down rather quickly, resulting in a bald tire that's still durable but unable to handle slippery surfaces.

Pros

  • Runs smoothly on paved and off-road surfaces
  • Produces little noise
  • Can increase rider comfort
  • Handles well in most conditions
  • Affordably priced

Cons

  • Fast tread wear
  • May struggle with ice and snow

Initially hesitant about buying these tires because of the price, but decided to take the plunge because I was attracted to their appearance. I was pleasantly surprised by their outstanding performance in all types of weather and they have also demonstrated exceptional tread wear. Suffice to say, I am very fond of these tires and would definitely buy them again.

I'm quite happy with the tires I got for my F150 off road 4x4. They do make some noise when driving on the freeway, but it's not a big deal since the tread is designed that way.

This article will review the Goodyear Wrangler All-Terrain Adventure With Kevlar tire.

We have researched user reviews, performance tests, and manufacturer statistics to thoroughly analyze every aspect of the Goodyear Wrangler All-Terrain Adventure with Kevlar. After hours of dedication investigation, we have compiled an in-depth review.

Don’t have time to read everything? Here’s a quick summary of our review as well as pros & cons listed.

This review will explore every aspect of the Goodyear Wrangler All-Terrain Adventure With Kevlar tire, from performance and handling to noise and durability. You can use this information to make an educated decision as to whether this tire might be right for your vehicle

Keep reading to learn more about this rugged all-terrain tire.

Overview

The Goodyear All-Terrain Adventure With Kevlar is a mid-range priced tire that’s designed to fit most compact SUVs and off-roading vehicles, including Jeep Wranglers. It’s an all-season tire that should grip all types of road surfaces, including rain and snow-covered pavement.

This tire is also designed for nearly all terrains, including off-road surfaces. The two layers of DuPont Kevlar bolster the tire’s durability, ensuring that it can handle thousands of miles of tough terrain before losing tread.

This tire is supposed to be a step up from standard all-season tires, as it’s also marketed as an all-terrain tire. The addition of DuPont Kevlar is also notable, as this material is often used to increase a tire’s durability.

Still, it’s crucial to test these manufacturer claims to see how valid they are. That’s why we recommend spending time reviewing a handful of key factors, including performance and price.

Performance

Performance is the first thing to consider when selecting a new set of tires for your vehicle. After all, it’s essential to choose tires that can handle the type of environment you typically drive in, whether that be rain-covered pavement or snowy mountain passes.

Let’s see how the Goodyear Wrangler All-Terrain Adventure With Kevlar tires stack up!

Wet

If you tend to put only a few hundred miles on your vehicle throughout the month, you may experience high-quality performance while driving on wet surfaces. But drivers that take to the road (or the wilderness) often may burn through the tread on these tires comparatively quickly.

As a result, some user reviews negatively rate these tires for their performance during wet conditions. This poor perception likely has more to do with the short tread life than with the tire’s initial ability to handle rainy conditions.

Dry

These all-terrain tires flourish in warm, dry weather. If you’re driving across sandy dunes or tackling some hot pavement, they’ll roll along nicely. Many users report exceptional handling and performance during the warmer summer months.

Snow

One of the most significant drawbacks of these tires is their ability to handle snowy, icy conditions. While some users report adequate performance on icy or snow-covered roads, others have lamented about subpar handling, especially when attempting to drive through heavier snowfall.

Braking Distance

While the tread remains, these tires come to a halt easily and quickly. Naturally, the speed and condition of the road surface (icy, rainy, dry) influences braking distance, but these tires meet common distance standards, coming to a full stop after about 180ft when braking at 60mph.

Handling

The Goodyear Wrangler All-Terrain Adventure With Kevlar excels in terms of handling, especially during the first 20,000 miles of usage. The reinforced tire wall and deep treads make it easy for drivers to roll over rocky off-road terrain, grip onto wet asphalt, and make sharp turns.

Feel

These tires offer a smooth ride with plenty of traction, at least for the first 20,000 miles. Whether you’re driving on paved roads or going off-roading, Goodyear Wrangler All-Terrain Adventure tires are built to keep you feeling secure and in control.

Sharpness

If you ever need to make a sharp turn, these tires have you covered. They handle particularly well on dry and warm on-road and off-road surfaces, resulting in pin-point turns that don’t leave your sidewall scraping against the terrain.

However, you may need to be careful with making sharp turns on wet, icy, or snowy surfaces. Many users report a lack of traction on these surfaces, especially after several thousand miles of use.

Noise and Comfort

Another category in which this tire excels is noise and comfort. According to several user reviews, the Goodyear Wrangler All-Terrain Adventure made virtually no noise when conquering various terrains, and it also supported their vehicle well, resulting in a comfortable ride.

Noise

Despite being on-road/off-road tires, these tires have near-silent tread that doesn’t tap against the pavement as you’re driving. Many users report enjoying the quiet quality of these tires.

Overall Comfort

While these tires may struggle with some off-road environments (particularly extremely rocky off-road paths), they perform admirably on the majority of off-road surfaces. As such, these tires rate highly in terms of comfort.

Durability

Unfortunately, long-term durability isn’t one of the Goodyear Wrangler All-Terrain Adventure With Kevlar tire’s strong suits.

Several drivers have reported these tires going completely bald after only a spate of 20,000 miles. Others have commented on the lackluster warranty.

Warranty

Each Goodyear Wrangler All-Terrain Adventure With Kevlar tire comes with a 60,000-mile tread life limited warranty. If your tire tread wears down before this point, you can receive a prorated replacement tire.

Still, you’ll need to keep your original tire invoice and receipt to take advantage of this warranty. Additionally, it’s vital to note that Goodyear won’t simply replace your tire for free. Instead, they’ll offer you a discount on a replacement tire that accounts for how many miles your current tire has lasted.

User Reviews

Many users have pointed out that despite the two layers of DuPont Kevlar, the Goodyear Wrangler All-Terrain Adventure With Kevlar tire seems to run out of tread between 20,000 and 50,000 miles.

This can be problematic for those that drive in wet or icy conditions, as bald tires can hydroplane into other vehicles. Consequently, many reviews for this tire show low ratings in the durability category.

Price

The average price for a Goodyear Wrangler All-Terrain Adventure With Kevlar tire varies between about $130 to $400, with an average price of about $265. Smaller tires with a lower load index tend to be the least expensive options, while larger tires with higher speed ratings are the most expensive.

Price Considering Quality

In terms of quality, these tires are reasonably priced. The addition of DuPont Kevlar is a smart design move and easily makes the average price point of $265 worthwhile. However, their durability isn’t quite so impressive.

Price Considering Durability

Considering the long-term durability of these tires, they’re slightly overpriced. After all, you can purchase higher-rated and more durable on-road/off-road tires for about $200, slightly less than the average price for these tires.

Recommendations

The Goodyear Wrangler All-Terrain Adventure With Kevlar isn’t the best on-road/off-road all-season tire available. That said, it could be a worthwhile option for those with smaller, lighter-load vehicles and drivers living in warmer, snow-free climates.

The primary drawbacks of the Goodyear Wrangler All-Terrain Adventure With Kevlar are its fast tread wear and difficulty navigating on icy surfaces.

According to Tire Rack’s comparison results, there are several better and similarly-priced tires from which to choose, including the Cooper Discoverer AT3 4S and Firestone Destination A/T2.

Final Thoughts

The Goodyear Wrangler All-Terrain Adventure with Kevlar tire could be an excellent, budget-friendly choice for those driving lightweight compact SUVs in warmer climates. That said, many reviewers have expressed their concern over how poorly this tire handles on icy roads, as well as how quickly the tread wears thin.

Consequently, you may prefer to buy Cooper Discoverer AT3 4S or Firestone Destination A/T2 tires. These tires tend to offer better performance and handling throughout all seasons and on all surfaces.

They’re also slightly less expensive than the Goodyear Wrangler All-Terrain Adventure With Kevlar, though the price depends on your tire size and load index.
